Smoked Mackerel Paté

Here’s a very simple recipe for a delicious paté that I was given to me by great grand-ma with the white hair.

  • 12 oz smoked machkerel or kipper fillets
  • 6 tbs white wine
  • 2 tbs lemon juice
  • 4 oz butter
  • black pepper
  1. Heat the fish in a pan with a little water for a short while to soften. Remove skins and bones.
  2. Blend fish with wine, softened butter and black pepper to taste.
  3. Pack into a decorative bowl and place in fridge for a few hours to harden.
